Hair Loss Results

Surprisingly, amongst the amounts of treatments that people are currently receiving for varying medical conditions, antibiotics can play a part in female hair loss, but not that they cause hair loss in females or males - you should just know which medications to avoid when considering hair loss treatments.

In this article I intend to outline a few of the medications that should be avoided, but please use your common sense and consult your Doctor as there are many medications that will react with a treatment for hair loss.

Female Balding - a Modern World Epidemic
There has been a larger amount of females seen to be suffering from varying levels of pattern baldness, or premature hair loss. It is said to be largely due to the increasing numbers of young women following fad diets, a direct cause of loss of hair in young ladies, or having to take 'Hormone Replacement Treatments' (HRT's) for which the drugs taken can have side-effects which cause female hair loss. There are many more treatments available now but you must be aware of the difficulties with taking two or more medications together.

Medications and Treatments for Illnesses
Routine courses of antibiotics are now under controversy in countries like the United Kingdom as critics are concerned over claims of severe side effects when used over time. With this in mind, the amount of prescriptions written by Doctors for the use of antibiotics in patients is being reduced dramatically, with alternative treatments being offered.

If you are currently on a course of antibiotics or are experiencing a little trouble with hair loss or balding then you must act cautiously when you are prescribed medication from your Doctor or considering buying it over-the-counter. Even some drug-free treatments can undermine the usefulness of some medications so do, please, do your research and consult a Health Professional for advice.
In addition to this, your Doctor should be made aware of any drugs or treatments that you have chosen to buy without consulting him or her, so that any medications he or she prescribes will work properly. If an alternative remedy cannot be found, then they will ask you to stop the use of your chosen hair loss treatment until your course of medication has been completed.

Examples

. Florisene
I found a female hair loss treatment that can be bought over the counter, but it is not recommended for use with antibiotics. Florisene is a female treatment and is also not ideal for use when you are pregnant or on hormone replacement treatments (HRT).

. Propecia
This is a hair loss treatment which can safely (according to most suppliers) be used in conjunction with antibiotics without side effects. Whilst on the subject of taking two medications or more, Propecia (containing Finasteride) can also be used with Minoxidil (Regaine) to enhance its effectiveness. Please note, Propecia is licensed in the US but is only available on prescription in the UK.

At the end of the day, your common sense should tell you to consult your Doctor honestly when you are taking pills or applying solutions to your scalp to solve your hair loss condition. Even when they have written the prescription it is useful to remind them of the medications you are taking for any condition so that treatments can be taken safely.
