Hair Loss Results

We all have seen many men suffering from baldness that they just cannot improve. As a growing number of women suffer from Alopecia, the hair loss condition, it is interesting to note that there are many different causes of women's hair loss and there are equally as many great treatments out there too.

Family Tree versus Hair Loss
There is no easy way to say it but looking at your parents or your grandparents is the best way to giving you a good idea of how the hair on your head will stand the test of time. Sometimes the dominant gene that causes balding will stay dormant and miss a generation, and often brothers and sisters will see their siblings suffering but will avoid hair loss altogether so genetics does not guarantee that your hair will fall out just like your dads.

Baldness or thinning of the hair, when passed through the family, occurs when there is increased production of testosterone (male hormone), or when your body becomes sensitive to it. We all produce male and female hormones, just some of us produce a little more at certain times in our lives and this is, again, largely down to inherited genes.

In females, the menopause can often speed up the natural course of hair loss - where you were going to become a little thin on top anyway, the menopause can bring it on a little earlier than nature intended. In the past, the drugs taken for the menopause (HRT) have been noted as a direct cause of hair loss - the side-effects of which are not suffered by everybody - as the changing hormone levels in the body are interfered with.

Hair Loss Solutions for Women
I couldn't possibly list absolutely every single female hair loss treatment, but advice passed on can be vital to your search. Finding the most appropriate drug for your own individual needs is important - some medications and 'remedies' will work on only a percentage of those that take it, so do your research. Look at hair loss product reviews from trusted health sources, like the NHS or the FDA. You will also find that many health magazines often publish articles relating to permanent and temporary female hair loss so don't take it with a pinch of salt and look into their findings and studies.
A treatment that you may come across but would be very wise to avoid is Propecia as it is only indicated for use in men, however the ingredient Florisene is suitable for women (but not when you are taking other medications, especially antibiotics).

Please be cautious, if you are concerned that your problem is genetic then it is probably a permanent loss of hair that you will see. There are no miracle cures although some over the counter medications and prescriptions do claim to improve the condition. Some people are brave enough to try wigs and hairpieces, or even transplant surgery, so whatever direction you go in will be right for you.

Do remember to seek advice from your Doctor if you are at all concerned about hair loss, my advice is just that - the best advice will come from your Doctor or other health professional.
