Hair Loss Results

Diet plays the most important part in our all over wellbeing and health. I was asked to write a short piece on exactly how it affects women and thinning hair or hair loss and this article is aimed at highlighting why there is a direct link between hair loss and balding, and vitamin deficiency in women.

How Diet Has An Effect On Your Hair and Body
The food you eat plays an extremely important part in your every day functions and activities, the way you look and act can be just as obvious to other people when you lack in important vitamins and minerals.

It is clear to us that when somebody follows a very unhealthy diet and you can easily see from the way their skin appears that they are deficient in some vitamins that are necessary to keep the body functioning correctly. We see the most serious form of a lack of vitamins in chronic cases of anorexia, which is now recognized in men as well as women but remains as serious as it was yesterday. The sufferers' hair will fall out because the correct vitamins are not being pumped around the body, the skin and hair will be affected first. You can relate this to anybody following a terrible diet - they will feel tired, perhaps anxious, unable to concentrate and will have no motivation. The result at the exterior is sallow looking skin, tired eyes and lank and dull hair that will eventually start to thin and fall out.

Some forms of psoriasis are linked to a bad diet and this in itself can lead to Alopecia (loss or thinning of hair). Diet can also play an indirect part too; when you suffer stress it seems easier to eat 'on the go' and forget to eat, or grab a coffee and a cigarette instead of lunch. In time this all does damage to our hair and skin so we really need to focus on a staple diet - a healthy nutritious one.

It can be easy to monitor your diet by keeping a simple diary but altering the way we eat can be hard as diets such as low fat or low carb are always being scrutinised so sometimes it is hard to trust and accept the information we are given. At the end of the day, it is important to design a healthy diet that suits your lifestyle. You can even prevent some illnesses by what you eat so if you have one priority, your diet is it.

What to Eat
For improved health and wellbeing you can take in extra vitamins in tablet or liquid form. One that springs to mind is the Omega-3 Oil complex. This one is great if you struggle finding the time to sit down and eat oily fish like sardines and salmon as it is said to improve appearance of hair and skin. Really, use your common sense and try to eat a balanced diet rather than trying to depend on herbal medicines to treat your hair loss.

Avoid all the obvious ones - too much sugar, chocolate, salt, bad fats (as in fried food) - and fill up your next supermarket trolley with all the staples like green vegetables, salad vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers), oily fish and small amounts of red and white meat (ideal portion at one meal is the size of your palm). Add to this other foods rich in calcium like sensible amounts of cheese and yoghurt and add more fruit and you will have the basis of a great health-full diet which can alter the way you look and feel.

Summarizing Hair Loss versus Vitamin Deficiency
In summary, the proof is in the pudding (albeit one containing fruit) - tests have shown on many an occasion that if we take drugs and medication that the residue will make an appearance in our hair under close examination. Eating a balanced diet which includes essential vitamins, minerals and proteins we can achieve great physical - and mental - health and, most importantly here, prevent or rescue a hair loss condition. So change your diet and maintain it and within days you will notice a huge difference.

Seek help from a Doctor if you continue to suffer from any symptoms of hair loss, so that any underlying issues can be diagnosed or preferably ruled out.
